What’s going on with the China digital camera market in 2010

It’s full of changes of the China wholesale electronics market in the first three months and there’s no exception for the digital camera market. Some hot items of 2009 like Canon IXUS95 withdraw and there’s also new item like Fuji HS11. New products of different brands and types come to compete with each other.
The Canon, Sony and Fuji ranked in the top three and followed closely by Nikon in the first three months in the consumer digital camera market. Fuji mainly achieved the success in long-lens camera and would not be surpassed by the Nikon in short time. The followed Samsung, Panasonic and Olympus ranked as usual. There are some changes with the Kodak and Casio.
Canon IXUS110 and 500D became the most-concerned consumer camera and SLR camera respectively. In the first quarter, the Sony surpassed the Canon to be the most-concerned portable digital camera brand. The Nikon surpassed the Canon to be the second long-lens camera brand.
Canon and Fuji show good performance in the first three months in 2010. The Fuji HS11 and Canon 550D both made great contribution to the nice performance of its brand respectively. The Fuji is target to the long-lens camera market. H11 is a camera with a high-powered optical zoom which was launched in the first quarter.
Now it’s getting hot. It will come to the summer promoting time at the end of the second quarter. The performance of all the brands in the second quarter will directly affect their strategies and positions in third quarter. It remains to be seen what might have been changing on the wholesale digital camera market in the second quarter.
