@NIGHTSKYE1 Not necessarily. Many owners will have limited experience of other DSLRs, so can’t really compare with anything else, wheras we have tested them all. Owner feedback is still useful because they pick up on things like long term reliability which aren’t apparent in a 2 week review.
@xmeda It’s also easy just to press right dial button, which brings you to ISO menu immediately This works also for other functions. Fn is just a kind of “help” button.
pentax k-m sony ccd sensor
lol ya but your right
some sony lcds are assembled by samsun with sony components then are shipped back to japan for final quality inspection to see if they are up to sony standards.
Samsung manufacture the tiny little pieces on a microchip, which are then assembled by whoever decides to purchase them, then if samsung likes the way a certain component is made by another company, then they will purchase them. The manufacturing of a product isn’t a one man show, it involves multiple countries and many businesses.
the samsung gx-10 and the pentax k 20d are made in the same pentax plant in the philippines. so really its the same camera pentax did all the engineering. in the end both are japanese and pentax is a “real camera company while samsung is an evil corporation taking over the electronics industry day by day night by night LOL.
i doubt it , the japanese electronics industry is still overall the biggest in the world.more likely in samsung products they use japanese components because it was japan in the first place that supplied samsung with components.
Ok, you need to look past the brand names all you Canikon peeps. I have shot with SLRs for over 30 years. I tried these two side by side and bought the Samsung. It has lots of control, way more than entry level Canikons. It is possible to customise the front and rear scroll wheels to change ISO, F.stop, Shutter speed and the exposure comp is on its own button at the back. It only under exposes by about half a stop under certain metering conditions and settings and you can easily set up 1/2 stop.
The general concencus seems to be that unless your shelling 2.5-3K for a Canikon, Pentax is your better bet vs. the lower end Canikons. There’s quite a few articles saying the K-7 has more latiitude and detail vs. a 7D
I know, there’s no escape or rescue from this… Actually, when you’re buying a Sony LCD TV, you are most likely bying a Samsuing made LCD panel, because Samsung is the largest LCD panel producer in the world. On the other hand, on the used market you can get some great deals. For instance, I bought this Yamaha DX7 synthesizer for $250 in mint condition, and it made of metal, and it says “Made in Japan” on it, and it’s beautifully executed. Same with lenses, I got 300mm f/4.5 OM lens used.
Doesn’t matter whether you buy a samsung product or not, in the end your going to be buying a product with some or all of it’s internal components made by samsung.
I don’t understand how could anyone buy a Samsung product, never mind a Samsung digital camera? Samsung prices are almost as high as Japanese products these days. I like Pentax, it’s such a shame that they colaborate with Samsung…
